WHY CELEBRITIES RELY ON PHOTOSHOP, DEMONSTRATED BY BRITNEY SPEARS, WITH AND WITHOUT THE HELPING HAND OF PHOTOSHOP.

With a little help from top flight hair and makeup, lighting, photography and shovelfuls of Photoshop.

The real thing, after the jump.

But before you leap, a word.

There is one picture in this set, which supports my belief that a little bit of fakery is no bad thing, for people in the public eye.

The cruel lens and spotlight is unforgiving, and, should one of us (a mere civilian, for e.g) suffer such an indignity, it wouldn’t appear on blogs such as mine.

Poor, poor Britney.

Shem.

Here she is at the launch party of The X Factor. (Looking not unlike me, I have to admit.)

I don’t think she looks too bad, just … normal.

Well, at least she’s laughing …

… that’s NOT funny.

I’m going to start a little campaign for a LITTLE medicinal, charitable, Photoshop, I think.

It’s in everyone’s best interest.
