THAT DECEMBER FEELING.

Tom Phillips, from the Exposure agency in The USA, has a cheery body of work called ...

... "The Dead Photos"...

...where he is kind enough to put into pictures (Dead in the Yaarab Shrine Temple,) ...

...that which most of us (okay, well, perhaps only me) call That December Feeling.

I think this one is called Dead in Dubai. I particularly like it because I went there and felt exhausted, depressed and in urgent need of a rest and detox. I went in February.

Dead at the end of a long walk with Richard Long.

Dead in Japan.

Actually, I suspect that they are about something much deeper than the ennui that appears to be blanketing the COSMO office on this sort-of-sunny Friday afternoon. (I should be on holiday – dammit!)

Here’s how he introduces them on his blog: “Meanwhile we shall express our darker purpose. Give me the map there. Know that we have divided our kingdom and ’tis our fast intent to …” Oh no, it’s useless.

I can’t concentrate.

You may find them morbid or compelling. I hope you don’t find them upsetting.

I just like to believe I’ve found someone who understands.
