RANIA MATAR’S A GIRL AND HER ROOM

Rania Matar is an award-winning photographer and herself, the mother of a teenager. She explains a girl in her room, "Being with those young women in the privacy of their world gave me a unique peek into their private lives and their real selves. I thank them all for their trust and their willingness to share their private space and their private self with me." This is Rocia, who is 17 and who lives in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Wow the contrast between the american kids and those in the refugee camps is startling. That being said I so identify with the girl with the cat ;-)

The girl in the first pic looks like she couldn’t be older than 12.
