“Jumping on a bed represents the most classic form of play and we all retain the sense of joy that children have when they jump.” says photographer Kelly Wainwright.
So why not take a bed to the streets, beaches, parks and lawns of Cape Town, with four other photographers, to create this heart-warming set of photographs, which make up the PlayJumpEat series?
A percentage of the profits from the R3 600, each print is being sold for, goes to the Tertia Kindo Arts project.
A worthy cause – a dance school in Ocean View, in a rough neighbourhood in Cape Town.
At the Mount Nelson. Classic!
And at St James beach. Double classic!
The Arch had a sore back, but leapt, nonetheless.
Love them.

Thank you, Vanessa!!
As the instigator/conceptualist/producer on this project, I’d like to give props to the 4 photographers I worked with and made this all possible as well, being:
Inge Prins, (above shot Tutu & maids)
Charley Pollard, (above shot “old swimming ladies”/St. James pool)
Antonia Steyn, &
Saul Wainwright
ps – Tutu is signing all limited edition prints (in a series of 11), which are going for R10,000, & all others are R3500, in limited edition series of 30.
Thanks again, Vanessa!
