PHOTOSHOP LETS ITSELF LOOSE ON NAKED WORKS OF ART.

by hurricanevanessa on February 7, 2012

In her Venus project, Anna Utopia Giordano asks: "“What would have happened if the aesthetic standard of our society had belonged to the collective unconscious of the great artists of the past?”

Because everyone looks so much better with 50kgs less flesh on their bones, dontcha know.

What do YOU think the doctored images look like?

I thought ... a little under-nourished.

Which is not to say that the optimum alternative to too thin ... is obesity.

I can hear her tummy rumble from here.

Eat less, exercise more, make peace with your body,. get on with life. That's my suggestion for all you Venuses, out there.

I Prefer the originals by a country mile!!!!! Those curvy bodies are more beautiful than the modern-day sticks!

Come to think of it, they paintings are pretty pervy to begin with. If they were photos taken now I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be allowed to be displayed in public. Though I’m missing the point again, aren’t I?!

What’s with the Botticelli Venus’s torso? Is that the modern ideal? Thanks for entertaining and provoking thought, as always.

The originals are always the best. The photoshopped versions look like they’ve just escaped some prisioner of war camps. That’s the nicest thing I can say about them.
