Way back when, I had a very close relationship with a Russian named Alexi, in the Dean & Deluca Orders Department in New York.
While I lived in London, my boyfriend had removed himself to NYC.
Against the sage advice of my Mother: “Never bake heart-shaped cookies for a man!” I used to send him him “witty” D&D confectionary to mark special occasions.
Just before he dumped me, I organised for what I believed was a triumph of originality: a pumpkin pie, with “Happy Thanksgiving Sweetie-pie” iced on the top.
Unfortunately it was an expensive way to learn that, if a man isn’t that sweet on you, no amount of sweeties are going to change his mind.
But a rejected gal could send a traditional D&D Mexican iced skull – but lace it with your own sinister message…
“Drop dead!” – perhaps?
These are $30 for 3, so perhaps, yet again, an expensive way to do something that you shouldn’t be doing, anyway.
There you are Mom. I may be a slow student, but I CAN learn.
