And I think they’re a fine work of satire, myself.
(They’re not so far from what non-ballerina women wear during the course of a day, when you think of it.)
They were created for an auction to raise money for the English National Ballet.
Louboutain had this to say: “I could not help being inspired by English National Ballet… after all…isn’t the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel? The heel which makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, closer to heaven!”
Louboutain joined Agent Provocateur, Moschino, Erdem and seven other designers donating couture items to raise money for the ballet.
Spoken (of course) by a man who has never had to wear high heels or go on point in his life.
Then he would have known that poor dancers feet are hellishly sore.
Oh heel. It’s for a good cause.
