The theory: Stare at the Oxy bottle for 20 seconds – and the spots disappear.
The assumption: Use the product and your spots will disappear?
Much as I love a local ad, (and this one is from Ogilvy, Johannesburg,) as hard as I stared, the spots stayed exactly where they were.
Exactly as teenage pimples did when I was a teenager and used to focus on nothing but trying to make them disappear, using anti-spot products?
Oh my God. The ad is bringing those lovely memories flooding back …
In achieving that, it’s …er…spot on!
I’m not sure this is your most successful idea. Ogilvy guys.
