For Die Antwoord’s next trick they have made a 16-minute short film (cute title!) with the director, Harmony Korine.
Agnes B co-produces.
Agnes B? Agnes B? Designer of pared-down chic little navy crop tops and capri pants?
Elegant, restrained, moderate Agnes B?
Have Die Antwoord changed their tune?
It seems not, as the synopsis reveals that all is just as it should be in the world of Yo and Ninj.
Business as usual.
Here you go: “Big dreams, big blunts, big rims, and big guns. its time to get gangsta gangsta. Ninja and Yo Landi are wheelchair-bound lovers and real gangstas. They live in the outskirts of civilization, they shoot guns for fun, smoke massive joints, and sleep in the woods. They don’t have any bling to show for their gangsta cred, but the world deserves to know who they are. They’re tramps, and their wheels are starting to fall off. Ninja become despondent over their vagabond existence, but Yo Landi won’t let him give up. what ensues is straight up gangsta mayhem, the realist of the real, true gangsta shit.” Agnès b. co-produces.”
The film debuts at SXSW

Yawn. 15 minutes up, please move on.
can’t wait to see this! Although to expand on the Agnes B involvement, far more than a mere purveyor of cute chicness, she has a long history of film patronage (not to mention collaboration with Korine). She co-owns production house O’Salvation with Korine, and has co-produced such weirdo masterpieces as Gummo, Julien Donkey Boy and Mister Lonely. In addition to Korine’s work she has provided funding for various other art house projects (like Clare Denis’ Trouble Every Day), and underwrites numerous film festivals around the world. Which kinda makes her this filthy-loaded art-house film patron extraordinaire, rather than a simple pedal pusher pedlar!
