Actors dating actors, have always struck me as a bit foolhardy.

After all, who could actually make a relationship work, with all that baggage to contend with?

Duelling egos, schedules, insecurities, entourages, eating disorders, gym schedules, eye-brow pluckings, interviews and press junkets, cosmetic surgeries, therapy sessions, conflicting and relationship-damaging-on-set-relationships-with-other-actors etc.

You would imagine that Darwinism would, by now, has ensured that Hollywood actors married their assistants.

Now that would make sense.

But no. They date. They marry. They divorce. Then they date and marry another …actor.

Except the ones who learn the error of their ways.

Just like Mad Men star and GQ Cover girl, January Jones, who is unusual in Hollywood for dishing about the somewhat …competitive and unsupportive behaviour of her ex.

Mr Demi Moore.

“[He] was not supportive of my acting,” said Jones. “He was like, I don’t think you’re going to be good at this. So – f— you! He only has nice things to say now – if anything, I should thank him. Because the minute you tell me I can’t do something, that’s when I’m most motivated.”

Now, she is Betty Draper, on one of the most admired TV series of the decade.

And he is Mr Demi Moore, and his latest TV show (starring Mischa Barton) has just been cancelled. After 2 episodes.
