Here’s what I learned: That four of the iconic Oregon-based Pendleton Woolen Mills cardis were created by teh costume department, but that Jeff Bridges only wore one of them for the entire duration of the filming of The Big Lebowski.
“To delve deeper into the Dudeness of the role,” say Profiles in History .
And now in what looks like an epic show down in the war of the dodgy garments, the cardi is to be auctioned off as well as Princess Beatrice’s ferocious, man-eating hat. (About which more later.)
The cardi is part of an auction of over 160 000 lots, but I think you will agree, that, even though the oirginal “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Car” is also up for grabs, that the cardigan is pretty special.
Oh, Maybe not. I have a soft spot (from a distance) for Jeff Bridges.
(What is it about him? His most brilliant roles demand that smells just a bit… challenging, up close. But I digress…)
The auction is in Hollywood on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th of may and the estimate is $4 000.
That’s a lot for a cardi.
But then it isn’t just any cardi.
Wonder whether it’s been dry-cleaned?
