All that work on her arms. For nowt.
Poor old Madge.
She works like a demon to transform perfectly normal arms into rock hard muscle.
Her cosmetic surgeon works like a demon to transform her face into something robotic. Something too smooth and unlined to look natural on a woman 20 years younger than she is.
And then the retouchers come along and wave their wand, over all of that, and turn “her” into a plastique doll with Vienna sausages for arms and rather suspiciously perky melons traumatising her skin.
Does anyone think she looks better?
Or is the concept of “better” 100% immaterial, now?
The aim, in advertising, is not about making models or actresses look “better” or “youthful” or “beautiful,” it’s about making them appear as un-lifelike as possible.
Our Teflon Age.
Someday, historians are going to scratch their heads, plus roll their eyes, when studying us.
