IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR FRANCES BEAN COBAIN?

by hurricanevanessa on December 16, 2009

Adopt me, please.

Someone, adopt me, please.

Poor Frances Bean Cobain.

She has not had a very lovely first 17 years of life.

In fact, her excuses for delinquency, later on, started stacking up long before she was even born.

Last week, her mother lost custody of her, when she was placed under the temporary guardianship of her late father Kurt Cobain’s mother, Wendy O’Connor, and his sister, Kimberly Dawn Cobain.

Removing her from her mother’s orbit is most probably long overdue.

A few months ago, her mother used her homepage on Facebook to assert that Britney Spears had been sexually molested by her father: “Imagine the father that molested you owning you for slavery while your forced to sing songs picked for thier sexual content every nightinsane right? Im SO not affraid of the little trolls who hit this when i was f***** up who are called lawyers. lets GO.” (Her typos guys. For once, they’re not mine!)

Directly afterwards, her daughter posted a succinct, but clear declaration of her feelings about her situation, on Twitter.

All she wrote was, “Someone adopt me. Please.”

Courtney’s even more outrageous and apparently disturbed, recent behaviour, has given rise to speculation that she had had a drug relapse.

Her lawyer insists his client is completely ‘clean,” but says the Daily Mail, the reasons behind the change of custody are not clear, except that it was Frances’ decision

Do we really need to give too much consideration to the poor kid’s reasons?

Directly after the news became public, her mother posted this message on Facebook:

‘I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s**t has lost her position… she was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself… My daughter is not always honest.’

and: “frankly the whole thing disgusts my daihgter is not always honest and ive alliwed her to visit with these assholes i support to the tune of houses horses and monthly annuities and cars.”

Her grandmother’s house is in Olympia, a small and secluded town, an hour out of Seattle, with a couple of decent schools and a thriving art and music community.

Getting away from all the uncertainty, craziness and …most significantly, perhaps, her mother, could be a lifeline.

Most importantly, it might just offer her a chance of something which is often the single element in a young person’s life that can make the difference between success and failure: a person they can rely on.

A decent role model.

A predictable and trustworthy adult.

Last year, France Bean said this about her Grandmother, in Bazaar, “She’s probably the person I respect most out of anybody in the world.”

Out of the mouth of babes.
